Elsi Katainen, MEP
Elsi Katainen has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2018. She is a Vice-Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and Member of the Transport and Tourism Committee. Katainen has an agricultural background, in addition to having a family farm, she is a teacher of natural resources and agricultural sciences by profession. In the European Parliament Katainen has a strong focus and expertise in agriculture, rural areas, and regional development, being highly active in topics regarding food security and safety. Before joining the European Parliament, she served as a Member of the Finnish Parliament for 11 years.
